A HISTÓRIA
São Simão-SP é uma cidade onde a natureza é exuberante e farta.
Possui uma grande extensão de serra que dependendo da época do ano e das condições climáticas, é tão verde que é impossível passar despercebida. Nosso mais querido local para lazer, a prainha do Tamanduá, é a nossa praia no interior.
Nascido e criado em meio a isso, a preocupação com o meio ambiente, gerou reflexões e ações desde 1987, onde o Presidente da Ogawa - João Butoh, confeccionava camisetas com as inscrições "Vigilante Ecológico". Estas camisetas, eram vendidas para as pessoas que freqüêntavam a área e também desejavam a preservação do local, que sofrera degradação pelos que acampavam e queimavam árvores com o fogo de suas churrasqueiras. Com a venda das camisetas, foi possível confeccionar panfletos alertando para a degradação da área da Praínha do Tamanduá. Mas pouco foi feito, pelo Poder Público (responsável pelo local), para efetivar esse trabalho de educação ambiental.
Não existe delimitado áreas para camping, lazer, churrasqueiras, etc...

Projeto de preservação ao rio, fauna e flora circundados pelo Balneário do Rio Tamanduá, situado no Km 8 da Rodovia Chafy Jorge.
ECOTURISMO
Através de mapeamentos realizados desde 1997, a Ogawa estabeleceu trilhas ecológicas que levam:

Trajeto realizado por dentro do rio, do balneário até a nascente.
Cachoeiras
Saindo da cidade, subindo pela encosta do Morro do Cruzeiro e entrando nas fazendas das redondezas onde ficam as cachoeiras.
Fauna e Flora
levantamento da fauna e flora do município de São Simão e proteção às espécies ameaçadas de extinção;

Realizado nas escolas do Município, visa através de oficinas de reciclagem e reutilização de sucata, resgatar nos estudantes a cidadania, promovendo a discussão sobre preservação ecológica e reciclagem de lixo.
HISTORY
São Simão-SP is a city where the nature is exuberant and satiated. It possesss a great extension of mountain range that depending on the time of the year and the climatic conditions, is so green that it is impossible to pass unobserved. Our more wanted local one for leisure, prainha of the Tamanduá, is our beach in the interior.
Been born and created in way to this, the concern with the environment, generated reflections and action since 1987, where the Presidente of the Ogawa - João Butoh, confectioned t-shirts with the registrations "Vigilant Ecological". These t-shirts, were saled for the people who frequenters the area and also they desired the preservation of the place, that suffers to degradation for that camped and burnt trees with the fire of its barbecue machine. With sale of t-shirts, it was possible to confection pamphlets alerting for the degradation of the area of the Beach of the Tamanduá. But little it was fact, for the Public Power (responsible for the place), to accomplish this work of ambient education.
It does not exist delimited areas for camping, leisure, barbecue machine, etc...
In some points of the River Tamanduá, it was possible to see trucks to be washed in the stream bed, where oil spots reached beyond the swimmers, the fauna and the flora of the river.
In the week ends, the "Ecological Watchmen", walked between the swimmers, in the attempt of awaking a preservation concern enter the frequenters of the place.
The result of this work, had been received physical aggressions, threats and indifference of many; they did not have lixeiras in the place, and the volunteers collected garbage for all part, that was left for hundreds of people who entered in the enclosure, come of hitchhiking, in the lift of trucks, bus and vehicles of some cities of the region. Several led for house, plants like (avencas, samambaias, orquídeas) and fish of the place.
The work with ambient education, continued being a subject explored for João Roberto, who beyond t-shirts, took for the palcos the concern with the environment.
In 1990, João Roberto de Souza if presented in Rio de Janeiro, was when he received the invitation to integrate the Conference of the Nations Joined for the Environment and Development, that would happen in 1992, known as ECHO 92.
In June of 1992, João Roberto de Souza, if presented in some parts of the city of Rio de Janeiro, where she was being carried through the Conference. Panfletou some times in the roadway of the Beach of Copacabana, relative information to the work developed in São Simão.
"VENEZHVELA - LA HYLAEA VIVERUM "is the name of the spectacle that was in season in the Ziembisnky Theater during ECHO 92. The work attracted some international producers and the press. The media gave to a fabulous space for the spectacle and the performances of João Roberto. Some journalistic periodicals, magazines, programs had notified its participation in the World-wide Walked one for the Peace, and in the Global Forum in Aterro of the Flamengo.
In the following years, João Roberto travelled for some parts of Brazil and the World, if presenting with spectacle "VENEZHVELA", taking care of to the invitations appeared during ECHO 92.
Until today, this spectacle is part of the repertoire of João Roberto, and is one of its spectacles (that it has as subject the concern with the environment) that more presents.
When in 1997, it established the Ogawa Butoh Center, João Roberto wise person who had to add the Environment as one of the concerns so that the Institution just servant, had in its statute the certainty of the continuity of this work.
